I am a former journalist/sub-editor still trying to find the secret of Life, the Universe and Everything.  Meanwhile, I read a lot, especially those old green-spined Virago Modern Classics – I can’t resist the lovely covers! And I write about books on this blog, and volunteer in an Oxfam bookshop. When I’m not reading I’m usually to be found fiddling about with fabric, thread, paints and so on. I’m not very good, but I enjoy myself, and I’ve enrolled on an online Creative Sketchbook course run by Distant Stitch, which is something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s great fun, and I’ve learned a lot. Fortunately, you don’t have to be good at drawing, and it’s very much about design, technique, and the way you look at things.
